Trump Entertainment Resorts' revenues were negatively affected by weak tourism in Atlantic City as well as competition from neighboring Pennsylvania casinos. Donald Trump does not run or control Trump Entertainment Resorts. Billionaire Carl Icahn bought the Taj Mahal and other Trump properties out of bankruptcy in 2014. Icahn’s holding company, Icahn Enterprises closed the Taj Mahal in 2016.
